Kate loved the stories so much that she asked me to record them, so she could listen again on the nights when sleep felt far away.
 

She soon started sending the recordings to her grandchildren too, who loved falling asleep to them just as much.
 

Before long, the requests started coming in:
 

“Can we have another one?”
“And when are you turning this into a book?!”
 

With the stories centred around kindness, friendship, fun and resilience, Kate was convinced other families would love them too. So she gently (and persistently) persuaded me to do a guest reading at a local children’s book club.
 

I was far less convinced. On the day, nerves nearly got the better of me, and I very nearly backed out. But once I started reading, it was clear I didn't have anything to worry about as the children (and parents) were completely hooked.
 

That was a few years ago now.
 

Since then, there’s been plenty of laughter along the way, a few tears, and the occasional creative disagreement!

 

But Kate and I are incredibly proud of what we’ve created together, and we’re endlessly excited to keep growing the beautiful world of Kitten McKitten.
